Hi, I'm Chihiro

or everyone calls me Chi :)

For me, photography is about preserving feelings, not just moments.

I’m originally from Tokyo, Japan and now based in Sydney, Australia.

My photography journey began with 35mm analogue cameras, which is where my love for nostalgic storytelling started.

I have a strong passion for bringing each client’s vision to life, which means I love adapting my approach to suit the mood and style you’re drawn to, from soft and warm, to bold and powerful imagery.

At the heart of my work is creating photographs that feel honest, emotive, and true to you, while always holding onto that nostalgic, film inspired feel that first made me fall in love with photography.

I love photographing emotions, small details, and those quiet in between moments that often become the most meaningful memories later on. My approach blends both styled and candid photography, allowing space for moments to unfold naturally while still creating intentional, beautifully composed imagery.

I’m also a hopeless romantic at heart, which naturally draws me toward documentary style storytelling and cinematic frames, the kind of images that make you feel like the main character in your own story, especially if that’s the kind of feeling you’re drawn to.

- What my sessions look like -

Every session is different, and I love tailoring each one to match my clients’ personalities, energy, and vision :)

After booking, we’ll chat more in depth about the kind of atmosphere and style you’re drawn to, and can even create a moodboard together to bring your ideas to life.

On the day, my goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. I want you to feel like hanging out with a friend than being in a formal photoshoot. I’ll gently guide you when needed while also leaving space for natural, candid moments to unfold.

And if you have kids and are worried about them “behaving,” don’t stress at all! I’ll do my best to keep them entertained and engaged throughout the session. Even if they’re running around, being playful, or not looking directly at the camera, those chaotic little moments often become the most meaningful memories to look back on later.
